The Laurel School of Dance emphasizes a
non-competitive atmosphere and believes that dance and the learning
process should be first and foremost fun.
We are committed to
quality dance education in a positive learning environment. Every
student is important to us, each deserving to be treated as an
individual.
Each student will be
given the opportunity to grow. Whether he/she is a recreational
dancer or a serious student with aspirations of a career in dance.
The Laurel School of Dance has the
largest dance floor in the area. With the studio's spacious
layout, high ceilings, and natural light our facility promotes the
student's safety and encourages the student's ability to learn dance
and technique.
The studio is conveniently located
just north of Kennekuk State Park and is easily accessible from both

Accepts
and
COMPETITION

Although The Laurel School of Dance
offers a non-competitive and fun dance experience for students,
Laurel also believes that regional competition showcases what the
students have learned.
Competition promotes self confidence and
the students feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment.
Competition also assures parents that their student receives the
same dance techniques and dance principles as students who attend
larger studios in the big, metropolitan areas.
The Laurel School of Dance does attend
one regional competition a year. Miss Lauri will select the groups
to participate. ![]()

In addition to an area competition all
students are invited to participate in the yearly recital. The
recital is considered the areas best and is packed with special
effects and pyrotechnics.
Our recitals are famous for their
opening production number that showcase the students talents in
comparison with Miss Lauri's professional technique. It's a
crowd favorite.
Recitals are an
exciting event featuring the student in a professional atmosphere.
This performance opportunity is an important part of the training
process as students learn about theatre, rehearsals, perfecting a
dance and showcasing their skills.
Although the recitals
are not mandatory, they are a wonderful way for students to display
the results of their hard work and for family and friends to join in
the pride of their achievements.
